About

The Centre for Investigative Journalism of Malawi (CIJM) was founded in 2013. Investigative journalism is independently conducted at CIJM. Encouraging ethical, impactful, and unique reporting is our mission. Holding public leaders accountable to their constituents by bringing their actions and motivations to light is the organisation’s mission.

With regard to corruption, exploitation, and other social justice issues, CIJM’s work goes beyond a narrow focus on dishonest people to a more methodical and contextualised approach.

The CIJM Malawi is a member of

    • MISA Malawi Chapter
    • Media Council of Malawi
    • African Network of Centre of Investigative Reporters (ANCIR)
    • Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN)
    • Organised Crime Corruption and Reporting Project (OCCRP)
